On October 14, the 2023 China Padel Tennis Tour CPT-300 (Chengdu Station), which landed in Chengdu for the first time, kicked off at the Lujiatan Chaowan Sports Park in Wenjiang District, Chengdu. This event is currently the largest high-level Padel Tennis event in China and the first Chinese national paddle tennis event held in Chengdu. A total of 139 contestants from China, Colombia, Chile, Philippines, the United States, Sweden, Spain and other countries participated.

During the competition, the Chengdu Wenjiang Digital Cultural Tourism Sharing and Promotion Conference with the theme of "Digital Technology Empowers Cultural Tourism, and Trendy Sports Predicts the Future" was held simultaneously. Participants discussed how to promote the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle. In terms of the actual development status and future trends of the padel tennis industry, in-depth discussions will be conducted around "camping the city with games", promoting the development of national fitness and the development direction of the cultural tourism industry.

Data shows that the padel tennis market will reach US$190 million in 2022, and is expected to continue to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 17%, reaching US$491 million in 2028. At present, there are more than one hundred professional Padel Courts across the country, distributed in cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, and Guangzhou. A large number of paddle tennis enthusiasts are active on the court, and various events, training camps and other activities are held one after another, showing a good development trend overall.

Relying on the development concept of "building a city with games and building a city with games", Chengdu has attracted more and more world-class events after the Universiade. Wenjiang District, where this event is held, is the only "national sports fitness model district among the first batch" in the province.
